Pears & Raspberries Smoothie

After long months of lock-down, we finally have a wonderfully sunny weather, which immediately translates to spending some time in the garden barbecuing burgers and slurping some smoothies. Yep, summer for us is definitely smoothies time, and they come in all shapes and flavours.

There are so many wonderful fresh fruits and vegetables out there these days, it is super easy to put together some great, refreshing and lets not forget healthy, smoothies, and this time it’s pear and raspberries one.

This fantastically refreshing, beautiful coloured and delicious drink is the healthy and fun way to open your morning, or summer season for that matter.

Ingredients:

1 large banana

2 medium pears

¼ cup walnuts

½ raspberries

½ tsp vanilla

1 tbsp honey

1 cup fresh orange juice

or

1/2 cup bought orange juice

½ cup ice-cold water*

 

* to maintain the sweetness factor

Method:

Roast the walnuts on a dry pan for couple minutes, when starts to release fragrant, their done.
Set aside to cool.

Cut the fruits to rough chunks.

In electric blender, blend all ingredients together until s smoothie like consistency.

Decorate with some chopped nuts and a drizzle of honey.

Tips:

If using fresh juice, use a whole cup and relinquish the water.

Add couple cubes of ice for a ice-cold smoothie.
